Hybrid Performance
An electric motor powered by an innovative nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery. And the 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 gas engine. The combined energy of these two sources supplies the power for the Fusion Hybrid. A full hybrid, Fusion can start off from a complete stop and travel at light to normal acceleration up to 47 miles per hour on electric power alone, with no fuel used. The I-4 gas engine kicks in extra power when needed, such as in passing or merging situations, and provides the main source of power above 47 mph. Both the gas engine and the electric motor combine to deliver a maximum 191 net horsepower.
Flex Fuel Capability
The responsive available 3.0L Duratec V6 has Flex Fuel capability. You can run on unleaded gasoline, E85 (up to 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) or any mix of the two. So you can fill up wherever you are, even if E85 isn't readily available.
SmartGauge™ Cluster with EcoGuide
The exclusive dual LCD SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide* is an innovative gauge cluster that provides real-time information to help you get the most efficiency from your Fusion Hybrid. SmartGauge™ with EcoGuide uses dual liquid crystal display (LCD) screens on either side of the center-mounted speedometer. A tutorial built into the display lets you choose one of four data screens for the level of information you want — Inform, Enlighten, Engage or Empower — and explains your options within each. Steering wheel-mounted controls make it all easy. All levels can indicate instant fuel economy; fuel economy history; odometer; engine coolant temperature; plus trip data including fuel economy, time-elapsed fuel economy and miles to empty. Energy Flow Display
Included in the available Navigation System* is the Hybrid Energy Flow Display. It lets you track the powertrain's four modes of operation — Hybrid Drive, Electric Drive, Gas Engine and Idle Charging, plus instant and average fuel economy — to know how efficiently your Fusion Hybrid is operating and how economically you're driving.
Easy Fuel® Capless Fuel Filler
The standard Easy Fuel® capless fuel filler has an integrated spring-loaded flapper door that lets you simply insert the fuel nozzle to fill up. No screw cap is required. And because Easy Fuel automatically seals after the fuel nozzle is removed, fewer evaporative emissions are released into the environment.
Regenerative Braking System
When you apply the brakes in a conventional vehicle, kinetic energy is lost to heat due to friction. During braking in the Fusion Hybrid, however, the regenerative braking system recovers over 90 percent of this energy that is normally lost and sends it back to the battery pack to be stored for later use. Not only is regenerative braking efficient, but it also helps minimize wear on the brake pads, lowering the cost of maintenance.
Eco-Friendly Cloth Seats

MyKey can be set to place limits on speed (to 80 miles per hour) and audio volume (to 45 percent of maximum). The low fuel light comes on sooner (75 miles to empty instead of 50). BLIS® with Cross Traffic Alert
Ford offers cutting-edge technology in the available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert to help make driving more convenient. BLIS is designed to use radar in the rear quarter panels to identify if a vehicle has entered your blind spot and alert you with an indicator light in the appropriate sideview mirror. Cross Traffic Alert is designed to use radar to watch for traffic behind you when you're slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it sends an audible warning, a visual display in the corresponding mirror, and a signal in the message center.
Rear View Camera
Put the gear selector in reverse and the optional Rear View Camera automatically transmits the image of what's behind you to your rearview mirror (shown), when you're slowly backing up. If your Fusion is equipped with the available Navigation System*, the image is shown on the navigation screen. The Rear View Camera is included in the Driver's Vision Package for Fusion SEL, Sport and Hybrid models.
Reverse Sensing System
The Reverse Sensing System uses an audible signal to alert you to an obstacle up to six feet behind you when you're slowly backing up. The alert sound becomes more frequent and louder the closer the vehicle gets to the object. It's optional in Fusion SE, SEL and Sport models, and standard in the Fusion Hybrid.
Balanced Ride and Handling
Ford Fusion features a double-wishbone independent front suspension with stabilizer bar, a design commonly found in top-of-the-line sports and luxury cars. And Ford engineers made the best use of the multilink independent rear suspension's design flexibility to deliver excellent ride quality and handling capability.

All-Wheel Drive
The V6-powered Fusion with available All-Wheel Drive (AWD) improves traction and handling on any surface where wheelslip can occur, such as ice, snow, mud or gravel. It constantly monitors driving conditions and distributes engine torque to the wheels with the most traction. So if the front wheels are experiencing poor traction, AWD will automatically transfer more torque to the rear wheels. At highway speed, the AWD system automatically deactivates to help conserve fuel but is able to reactivate if wheelslip is anticipated or detected.
47 MPH in EV Mode
Fusion Hybrid can go up to 47 miles per hour in Electric Vehicle (EV) mode. This helps Fusion Hybrid achieve 41 miles per gallon in city traffic and more than 700 city miles on a single tank of gas.* And that's an important fact well worth considering when investing in a hybrid vehicle.
Six-Speed Transmissions
By designing a transmission with more gears, engineers can calibrate its wider range of ratios to deliver more responsive acceleration at the low end and higher fuel economy at the high overdrive gear.* That's why every Fusion engine is matched with a six-speed transmission.
• A six-speed manual comes standard in the Fusion S with the 2.5L Duratec® I-4 engine, while the SE and SEL I-4 models get a smooth-shifting and quiet-operating six-speed automatic.
• V6-powered Fusion models feature the six-speed SelectShift™ Automatic™ transmission with a thumb switch on the shift lever for up/down shifting.** You can override automatic operation and enjoy the fun-to-drive performance feel of a manual transmission.
• The 2.5L Atkinson-Cycle Hybrid I-4 engine is teamed with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT). As its name suggests, this transmission is designed to provide seamless shifting because there is no progression of gear changes in the usual sense. What's more, because the eCVT can compensate for changing vehicle speeds, it allows engine speed to remain at its level of peak efficiency, helping make the Fusion Hybrid the most fuel-efficient hybrid sedan in its class.†

The exciting Fusion Sport rides on 18-inch painted aluminum wheels mounted to low-aspect-ratio P255/45VR18 performance tires. Special black bezels and chrome rings on the headlamps help blend into the three-bar chrome grille, accentuating the bold, dynamic styling of the Ford Fusion. Notice as well the fog lamps flanking the aggressive shape of the air dam. Fog lamps come standard on Fusion SE, SEL, Sport and Hybrid.
Ambient Lighting
Pick one of the seven colors in the Ambient Lighting feature to express your mood: Ice Blue, Orange, Soft Blue, Red, Green, Blue, Purple.
